Downtown Waterfront Alliance Launches New Veteran’s Banner Project
– Honoring Gig Harbor’s Heroes –
The Downtown Waterfront Alliance is introducing a new project to honor our local Military Heroes. Applications for this unique opportunity to honor those who have served, or are currently serving, are being accepted. Banner applications will be accepted until August 31 at a cost of $200.00 per banner. This is not a fundraiser for the Alliance. Money collected will pay for the production costs of the banners and any remaining funds will go to support “Race for a Soldier” and the PTSD Foundation. They will direct those funds appropriately to local veterans and those currently serving. The Banners will hang in our community from mid-September through late November 2018. After that time, the banners will be available to the families.
We have space for forty banners for the first round in 2018, and they will be approved in the order in which they are received. Pictures in uniform are required in a high quality digital form. If you do not have a digital copy, please bring the picture to the Main Street office and we will digitize the photo and return it to you in an appropriate time frame.

Applications will also be available at the Information Booth at the Waterfront Farmers Market each Thursday, 1-7, through the end of August, or until all 40 banners are purchased.
The message is clear: “We honor and appreciate our local Heroes”.
