Award Winning Guided Walking Tours of the Downtown Waterfront!

Exciting News!  The Waterfront Walking Tours will return for the Summer of 2019! The tours are presented by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance, Harbor WildWatch and the Harbor History Museum.

The “From Skiffs to Spirits” Tour is offered on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm from June 5 – August 28.  This one hour tour is free and meets at the entrance to the Harbor History Museum.  Enjoy an evening stroll along the waterfront while learning about our past – from net sheds and our historic fishing fleet to the effects of prohibition in the harbor, yesterday and today.  This tour is geared for adults and will end with an optional tasting at our very own Heritage Distilling Company!

On Saturday mornings throughout the summer, join us for our exciting new “Wonders of the Waterfront Tour” led by Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance, Harbor WildWatch, and Harbor History Museum guides. Explore the incredible wildlife and natural resources of Gig Harbor’s past and present. Learn about local plants and animals, restoring and re-purposing historic properties, and the industries that are reliant on those natural resources.  This 2 hour, 1.5 mile interactive tour is fun for all ages! Binoculars and Waterfront Bingo Cards will add plenty of enjoyment to your tour experience. Wear comfortable shoes and keep in mind the temperature can vary! The tour begins at 10am at Donkey Creek Park, across the street from the Harbor History Museum. The tour ends at Soundview Forest Park on the other end of the downtown.

Tours are free to the public, and are one way tours, so we recommend riding the trolley back to the starting area, or walking back and enjoy all that the harbor has to offer.

In the spring of 2016, the Washington Stage Main Street Program awarded the Alliance an Excellence on Main Award for our Waterfront Walking Tour program.
